what to scrap? Are you a chronological scrapper, an event scrapper, a moment scrapper, or some combination of those? When I started I really wanted to be a chronological scrapper. It somehow fit my idea of order. The only problem with that, as I discovered, is that it is not humanly possible to start at the beginning and "catch up." I'm always taking new photos so I'm always behind. So then I started scrapping events. But I realized that I was missing out on some of the truly wonderful moments in my life and my son's life. So now, I guess I'm a combination scrapper in that I scrap whatever it is I feel like scrapping at the moment. Sometimes, I just look through my iPhoto library and see if any photos speak to me. Sometimes, I see a great kit and it inspires me to think about that photo I know I have that would be perfect for the kit. That's what happened on Saturday, which is new release day over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I saw this wonderful kit by Shawna Clingerman:
When I saw this kit, I immediately thought of the pics I took of my son on the first day of school this year. I still hadn't scrapped them, but this made me want to. Here's the layout I made:
I came up with the composition one day when I was out. I was bored and without my laptop when I started imagining scrapbook layouts. I grabbed a pencil and some paper and started sketching. I made a template from one of those sketches and used it for this layout. I am offering it to you as a freebie just for visiting. If you use the template and post your layout anywhere, I'd love it if you'd leave me a link in the comments so that I can see the layout and leave you some love.

Have a great day and keep scrapping life, one dream at a time!
